This casino hotel page describes a casino inside a fictional Dutch storm-surge pier. The casino content is for adults aged 18 and over.
A licensed Dutch casino would also check every visitor against Cruks, the national exclusion register. This page checks nothing — it is a demonstration.

Deltapier Casino Hotel is a fictional Dutch casino hotel built inside a decommissioned storm-surge barrier pier: forty casino hotel rooms in the shaft above the water, oyster dining on the deck, and an eleven-table casino in the caisson four and a half metres below sea level. In this country, that last part is not remarkable.
+8,20 m NAP The pier
Deltapier is imagined as a casino hotel inside a piece of infrastructure that was built to survive the worst night in Dutch memory.
The barrier went up after 1953 and was finished in the eighties: concrete piers standing in the mouth of the delta with gates between them, closed when the sea comes up. In this concept one pier was taken out of service, hollowed out and re-used. The casino hotel rooms are stacked in the shaft, the restaurant is on the deck at the top, and the casino occupies the caisson at the base — below the waterline, inside two metres of reinforced concrete, with the tide going past on the other side of it.
The casino is below sea level. So is a quarter of the country, and nobody here finds it dramatic.

Board-marked concrete left exactly as it was poured, plywood and wool inside it, and one deep window per room punched through walls that were never meant to have any. Every casino hotel room faces open water.

The casino occupies the caisson at the base of the pier: one wide concrete room, eleven casino tables, a bar built into the old pump recess, and no windows because at this depth there is nothing to see through one. No machines, no screens, no music. The sea is on the other side of the wall, and on a spring tide you can hear it.

How casino play works here →18+ Every visitor to a licensed Dutch casino is checked against Cruks, the national exclusion register, and must show ID. In this concept the casino door does the same, and you set your own limit with the host before you sit down.
+8,20 m NAP Casino hotel dining
One kitchen serves the whole casino hotel from the top of the pier. Almost everything on the menu is grown, farmed or landed within sight of the building, which in this part of the country is not a boast.

The tide moves more than three metres here, so the landscape you walked on at breakfast is under water by lunch. Three things worth timing around it.
At low water · 3 hrs
A guided walk onto the sandbanks with someone who reads the tide table properly. Seals, shells, and a hard turnaround time.
Daily · 2 hrs
Into the machinery of the works themselves — the gates, the hydraulics, and the reason all of this was built in the first place.
Any wind over 4 Bft
The shallow water behind the barrier is flat, warm by August and almost always windy. Boards and instruction at the causeway end.
2 nights Casino hotel package
The stay most people take at this casino hotel: a deck room, oysters and dinner on top of the pier, the walk out onto the flats, and an introduction to the casino if you want one.

What this casino hotel page is, who may enter the casino, and how casino gambling is regulated in the Netherlands.
No. Deltapier Casino Hotel is an invented Dutch casino hotel, built to demonstrate casino hotel content and responsive web design. It takes no bookings, holds no gambling licence and processes no payments. The pier, the rates and the casino are all fictional. The storm-surge works they are modelled on are real, and still in service.
Not a land-based one. Casino gambling on premises in the Netherlands is a state monopoly operated by Holland Casino, supervised by the Kansspelautoriteit. Online casino gambling has been licensable since 1 October 2021, but that opened the internet, not the high street. A privately run casino hotel could not open its own casino floor.
The Dutch central exclusion register. Every licensed casino and betting operator must check each visitor against it before letting them play, and anyone can register themselves voluntarily to be locked out of all licensed gambling for a chosen period. It would apply to any real casino floor in a Dutch casino hotel. This page performs no such check.
For licensed online gambling, yes — Dutch rules require operators to apply deposit limits and to intervene when play looks financially risky, with tighter limits for players aged 18 to 24. Land-based casinos work differently, through duty-of-care obligations and the Cruks check at the door rather than a fixed monthly ceiling.
No, and most guests do not. The casino is one room at the very bottom of the pier, open five hours a night, reached by a lift that only stops there if you press the button. Casino entry is never bundled into a room rate and nothing about the stay assumes you will play.
Decide a limit in money and in time before you go down to the casino, and only play with money you can afford to lose. Never borrow to gamble and never chase a loss. If it stops being fun, stop. In the Netherlands, free and confidential help is available from Loket Kansspel, and anyone can register with Cruks to exclude themselves from all licensed gambling.
Casino gambling carries real financial risk and is not a way to make money. Set a limit before you play, take breaks, never gamble with borrowed money, and stop when it stops being fun. If gambling is causing harm to you or to someone close to you, free and confidential help is available in the Netherlands, and you can lock yourself out of all licensed gambling through Cruks at any time.
